Me, myself and I

How often do we put ourselves first?

Last week I went to an inspiring workshop called 'Remember Me' where we spent the evening totally focussed on ourselves. It was thought provoking and a nice reminder of considering our own needs as much as others.

So the following day I took myself out to coffee, wrote down all my achievements for the past few weeks and why I am proud to be 'me'. Once I got 'pen' to paper I couldn't stop. It was uplifting and a rewarding experience.

I walked away with a new stride in my step and a fuzzy feeling of contentment.

Often we rely on others to give us positive feedback when actually we can receive it from ourselves quite easily. It wasn't hard to do. It was actually like spending time with your own 'best friend'.

That same evening, I started a Tai Chi class. It had been one of those things on my 'To Do' list for about a year. Another opportunity to take time out for 'remembering oneself'.

I figured at the end of the day, the more we do for ourselves the more we can 'give' to otherselves. And the very next day, all my loved ones got the benefit of me at my 'best'.

So how can you remember yourself today? Remember, you deserve it!
